Soccer Skills at School

On Friday 17th of October, Room 7 had soccer on the field! Our coach named Chris, showed us some soccer skills. Then we played some really fun games.
The first game we played was soccer chain. Soccer chain is when you have to dribble the ball inside the square and if you get tug, then join the chain and last person that hasn't been tug is the winner.
Then we played shark attack. Shark attack is like soccer chain but the shark has to steel the ball off the fish for them to become a shark. Then we played cowboy and cowgirl.This game is where a cowboy/cowgirl kicks a ball from the outside of the square to the players that is inside the square. There is a leader and they have to make it to the end without there ball being kicked or running out of the square. If they make it to the end then they get to go A!A!A!A!A!A!with there mouth and hands. After all the games we said''Thank you Chris!'' and we walked back to class.

Filtering Water

On Wednesday the 15th of october room 7 had Sally from Watercare come in to do experiments with us. It was really fun because at the end most of room 7 got chocolate fish.

Chapter 1 - The Ship
On Friday the 19 of September the 2014 it was Pirate mufti but it was strange because there was water everywhere except the class room. It was a ship. I went on the ship.

Chapter 2 - Sinking Ship
When I got in I saw everyone was scared. Everyones scared because the sharks were swimming around the class with a fake human on them. Everyone freaked out except me, i just closed the door because we were sinking.

Chapter 3 - The Battle
While everyone was freaked out I had a plan, we can use bombs. I set the bombs off, they went fast and killed the sharks and we sailed the seas.

Chapter 4 - Being Captain
While we sailed the seas I became captain and Michaela became co-captain. We met Captain Jay as well.

Chapter 5 - Fighting Captain Jay
One day I was tricked by Captain Jay but I took the treasure and blew the ship up and Captain Jay was no more.

Chapter 6 - Going Home
A few days after we defeated Captain Jay we had to go home then i said good bye to Miss K then it was normal again.

 It was so much fun when we got taught about water.We got taught about drains and sewage pipes .

We learnt that when you put your undies and socks down the drain it blocks it and it goes straght to the sea.It's bad when car oil,dishwasher liquid,food,cooking oil and paint in the drain because it will posin the fish that's in the sea and when it goes down you might be swimming in the sea with it and maybe dead fish will come floating by.

Haunted treasure ,then I saw a big ship appear in the foggy fog! I thought for a moment... PIRATES!I quickly turned around to tell my Dad but he wasn't there!All I saw now was blood in the                                                water off the side of the boat.

I was trapped the the pirates took me a hostage. They trained me day after day for a whooping great                          big three years! Finally they gave me a name Jack Sparrow!

last night I dreamt of being a pirate but I wish it had come true. Every birthday I would have a pirate party and wish to be a pirate for  a really long time. The other day someone knocked me out then I woke up somewhere rattely where I couldn't stand up or sit down  and water spilt on the floor as          well.                                                                                             
                                                                                                        As I looked at my clothes I     saw they were wrecked. Just then, I thought Mum was        going to be mad, actually       where am? I thought  well I'm stuck  here maybe forever,     not sure.                                                                                       
                                                                                                      
I saw a cup and put it against wall and heard someone talking about me being new captain. I was just about to kick down the door when somebody opened it. I just accidentally kicked them in the face AHHHH!!!! whops!! well thats how I became a pirate.

        How I Became A Pirate

Hi I'm a girl and I want sail around the world but dad won't let me.So come along with me,I'm going to sneak away and follow my dreams.

"Oh no pirates!"Come on we have to sail to shore but then a storm is was coming.My ship capsized and that's when they got me.

When I woke up after that I'm surrounded by pirate's and the captain in the captain's bed and everything was decorated with welcome banners.There is party food and a big cake that says "yay a new person who will be the captain's daughter.I felt like I was being crowed queen,that's how I became a pirate.

I swam up to  it and it was a pirate ship! The captain grabbed me ,cut my eye ball out and cut my clothes. Then he gave me an eye patch and said "join our crew or walk the plank"

                                                                       Ants

There are normal pets and unusual pets, mine is one of those very unusual pets. This one eats all the leftovers, you can get them for free, they're very playful and they can multiply. It's an .................. Ant! Therefore, I believe that ants are really the best pets.

The first reason why I believe that ants should be everyone's pet is they can eat all the leftovers. Even if you just give them a crumb, they will eat it. You can sometimes secretly give your veggies if your mum make's you eat them. Sometimes you can get them a little treat which is sweets. I know ants love  sweets and so do we so if there's candy or cake that you don't like just save it and give it to the ants.

The best thing about ants are that they are free. Everyone knows how to get  them!!!They love sweets!!! I'm just going to go over how to get them. First get a tiny bit of sugar put it out over night and they will come to stay with you. They may be fun.

Another reason why ants are the world's best pet is because you can teach them tricks,you can make a circus with them and you can make a band too.If you teach them tricks you may make a circus or teach them how to bounce on a tiny drum.

One last reason is because they can multiply.What I mean is that you could get a HUGE container fill it with dirt find an ant a queen ant and they will lay eggs and make a whole colony of ants. So from starting with only two ants you could make a HUGE colony.

In conclusion this pet is the best in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD because there is good use of them. You can feed them anything,you can get them for free,there're really playful and they can multiply.

Sam Scanlan’s Wildself!!

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Monkerpin. You might not know what a Monkerpin is, but as soon as you read this description, you will definitely know what type of animal I am.

I live in the beautiful jungle and I have two big bat wings. I have this because I have lots of deadly predators but they can’t fly but I can so I can fly away from those deadly predators. I also have very large ears to hear those deadly predators and know when to fly away.

My arms are just like scorpions arms. They are so sharp that mice, fish and rats [my diet] should be very shocked and they will run for their lives!

 I also have big, curly horns on top of my head. I have this so I can sense predators far, far away. I also have very sharp teeth to eat my yummy diets in one bite! My teeth are as sharp as great white sharks teeth!

I also have a long slithery tail. It’s just like a rattlesnakes tail!!! This helps me to slide around and inside small smooth places. At night, I slither up the trees and hide in the little holes in the trees and I sleep there all night. You may notice I have a little rattling thing at the end of my tail. I have this to knock over objects that are in my way [that includes bugs and beetles]. The rattling thing at the end of my tail is like a digger. But it has a drill at the end of it. This helps me to cut a hole through the trees that are blocking my path

My powers come out of my eyes. You should know that I have super powers and it’s because of my eyebrows. My eyebrows are the same shape of lightning!!! The lightning comes out of my eyes and strikes people. I am not a friendly friend, so if you see me…prepare to be struck with lightning.

How to make a mini farm!

Step 1.

·      Glue roof of shed in place to make it look like a triangle

Step 2.

·      Cut the window and door with scissors .

Step 3

·      Use pompoms, cotton buds and cardboard to make a broom

Step 4

·      Put button in door and cut chimney and your done the shed

·      Cut shape of a barn

·      Cut a barn door any size you like

·      Cover the barn door with fabric

·      Use a different fabric o cover the barn

The baby polar bear

If I could choose any animal to be my pet I would choose a polar bear.

If I had a polar bear it would be epic because I could sleep on it and it would be pleasant, fluffy and I would go straight to sleep and have wonderful dreams

I believe that if I had a polar bear it would protect me from robbers, kidnappers it also would protect me from lions, tigers, bears, other polar bears and many other meat eaters

I have to say that if I had a polar bear it would go fishing with me because it would dive into the water and catch a fish and we would camp in the jungle and cook the fish over our campfire to have for our delectable dinner

You can see why having a polar bear as a pet would be the most amazing thing that would happen to you because they are friendly and can protect you.

I've been lerning all about division.Divison is like times table backwords. Our WALT is Solve divison by making equal shares.Divison is like 5x3 but backwords.We have been lerning divison for only 3 days now.We 've been doing it in the whiteboards and in our maths book.If you don't know divison,you can use materials or skip count in 2s 5s or 3s.

What's going on in Room 7?

Mythbusters

On  Wednesday  12th  of  March  2014  we  tried  to  fold  paper more than 7 times at Howick Primary School in Room  7. Some people did it more then 7 times.

First  Miss  Kilduff  explained  what  size  paper  and  she  chose  a little size  paper.

Secondly  we  folded  a  big  size  of  paper. I  folded  it  ten  times.

Lastly  we  watched  the  mythbuster  video  to see if  they  could fold  it more  then  7 times  and they  did! They  did it  11 times!

When I watched the Mythbusters I was amazed that they could fold a giant football sized piece of paper. I felt very proud of them!

Middle School Assembly

The middle school meets in Room 8 every Friday afternoon to celebrate our successes during the week. We also LOVE to sing.

Room 7 went on a rubbish clean up after morning tea today. What we found was VERY disappointing. Two representatives from our class are going to speak at assembly this week to talk about being a tidy kiwi!

WOW you wouldn't  believe what was on Mythbusters yesterday !! Room seven watched Mythbusters fold a piece of paper more then 7 times we had to watch it at Howick Primary School on the School TV

in room seven!

We tried to fold a very small piece of paper.I folded it ten times, So did Stacey and Myla! The others could fold only six, seven or eight times!

We watched the Mythbusters  fold a piece of paper as big as a football  field and they had to fold it seven times to bust that myth! Do you know what they did? They busted that MYTH! 

At the end I felt spectacular and awesome! I felt spectacular because I folded it more then ten times and the Mythbusters show was really funny!

Mythbusters Recount Writing

On Wednesday the 12 of March 2014  at writing time, Room 7 tried to fold a piece of paper more than 7 times. We did it in the class room.

First our teacher told us what we were doing. We had to try and  fold a piece of paper more than 7 times. She gave us a small piece of paper I could only fold it 6 times.

Then we  got another  piece  of  paper but it was  bigger I could still only fold it 6 times.

Then we watched Mythbusters fold a football size piece of of paper.They folded it 11  times. It was really fun and amazing I felt really happy at the end.

First we tried to fold a BIGGER peice of paper and it was tricky!
After that,we watched Myth Busters fold a BIGGER piece  of paper that's a size of a football field!They folded it eleven times!I was amazed when room 7 did this!
